Pennsylvania Criminal Defense Lawyer

- Are You The Subject of a Police Investigation?
- Have You Been Charged with a Crime in Pennsylvania?
If you answered yes to either of these questions, you may be feeling confused, scared or even angry at the system. You may be asking yourself:
- Will I go to Jail?
- Should I Plead Guilty?
- Will I Have a Criminal Record?
You have to understand, police and prosecutors are NOT here to help you and you have one chance to hire the right attorney. Choosing your attorney will be an important decision that could affect the rest of your life.
My name is Jason Antoine. I am a Pennsylvania criminal defense lawyer. I practice in state and federal courts throughout the counties of eastern Pennsylvania. I am a former Assistant District Attorney. I prosecuted hundreds of felony and misdemeanor criminal cases and had a 99.5% conviction rate*. I have experience taking to trial and winning high stakes criminal trials both as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney. As a Delaware County criminal defense attorney, many times I am able to have charges dismissed or reduced at the preliminary hearing.*
What Should I Do If I Am Arrested or Charged With A Crime?
There are certain things that you can do that will help you tremendously if you are arrested or charged with a crime. There are also certain things that you should never do.
Here are some things that you should/should not do when you are arrested:
| |
Tell police you want to speak with a lawyer before answering any questions. Once you say the words "I want to speak with a lawyer," the police should cease questioning. | Flee from police or resist the officers attempt to arrest you. |
Remain silent and refuse to answer any questions by police. | Give verbal or written consent to any type of search including a search of your home, vehicle, belongings or person. |
Provide photo identification and basic biographic information such as name and date of birth. | Waive your Miranda rights and answer questions without an attorney present. It is normal to want to answer questions if you are innocent to "prove" you are telling the truth, but this is often a very bad idea. |
Call a lawyer as soon as possible. A lawyer may be able to take action at the early stages of your case that could benefit your defense later down the road. | Be belligerent or rude to police. If you make your case into a personal vendetta for police, they may try to trump up your charges. |
This is Your One Chance to Hire the Right Attorney!
This may be a crossroads in your life and hiring the right lawyer can mean the difference in walking away and going to jail, having a criminal record the rest of your life and NOT having a criminal record at all. If chosen as your Delaware County criminal lawyer my promise to you is that I will never, never give up in a courtroom fighting for your cause. A trial lawyer should be a warrior in the courtroom and SHOULD NOT be intimidated by police or prosecutors.
